Changes are coming!

Center on Addiction
Partnership for Drug-Free Kids
Changes are coming!

Since merging with Center on Addiction, we have been taking thoughtful steps to unify our organization without disrupting the services and resources you have come to expect. As we have grown together, we have decided to evolve our name, too. Soon, you will start to receive messages from us as Partnership to End Addiction.
While this name may be new, and some things may look a little different, this transformation will allow us to do even more to address community needs at a time of increased national uncertainty. That being said, this service — providing you with news from the addiction field that impacts your work, life and community — will continue.
Thank you for your ongoing readership and support. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!
Don’t miss out on any future emails from the Partnership. Add info@toendaddiction.org to your contact list today.

A Prayer To The Cancel Evil Plans Of The Enemy | Prayers Against Evil Plans

Join us at The A.R.T. Summit

Hello , Everyone .....

I hope all is well with you.

As you know, Addiction is all around us AND so is RECOVERY.

I remember when I was nearing the bottom of my addiction , desperate, lost, confused and scared. . . . My name is Michael R. DeLeon, a successfully acclimated ex-offender who after nearly 8 years of drug addiction and gang involvement, spent 12 years in state prison and half-way houses for a gang-related homicide. I plead guilty in a very emotional and complicated case involving the murder of My own Mother by people tasked to kill me. Since My release from prison, I have earned 3 Associates Degrees, a Baccalaureate Degree in Business Management, with a minor in Criminal Justice and a CADC Educational Certificate. I am now a Tobacco specialist certified from the University of Kentucky School of Nursing, My Masters Degree in Social Work at Liberty University School of Social Work as well as pursuing My LCADC.

That’s why I am so thrilled to introduce you to my friend Rob Lohman, who is an influential advocate, just like me, in the addiction and recovery world (or add your own language here). Rob is a Professional Interventionist, Recovery Coach and Global Podcaster who is also in long-term recovery. He has spent thousands of hours working with families and individuals whose lives were ruined by addiction.

Will you help us increase the hope and encouragement of living a transformed life beyond addiction into recovery?
Rob reached out to me because he was hosting an interview series around this topic to help families and individuals learn to live transformed lives FREE from addiction. He invited me to be one of his 21+ Experts, to which I accepted!

It’s called The A.R.T. of Intervention Project: Teaching Breakthrough Strategies To Help The Whole Family Move Through Addiction Into Recovery, Living Transformed Lives Together.

The great news is that I have a complimentary ticket for you to attend. You can register using this link.

These interviews are REAL, short and to the point CONVERSATIONS with addiction, recovery and family system Experts out in the trenches helping people every day! Tune into the 21 day summit from June 30-July 20 where you will receive a daily email highlighting the Speaker of the day with direct links to their Speaker page.

If you want to help us spread the word, feel free to use the link below with attached image on your social media or email newsletters. We want to reach thousands of people with these breakthrough skills and strategies shared by more than 21 Experts, including yours truly!

See you at the SUMMIT!

Gratefully,

Rob and Michael

Two legacies of innovation and compassion

'My dad was just everyone's friend'

Kaitlin, Lauren and Harrison Olson want to bring attention to the disease while raising money for others who need help. Their father, Tim Olson, passed away unexpectedly in June 2019. He struggled with alcohol addiction for several years.

Launched on Father’s Day, the campaign’s goal was met in less than two days. So far the Olson siblings have raised more than $8,000 with the help of more than 100 community members. All proceeds will be used to provide free coaching to those in financial need.

“In addition to our financial goal, I have other hopes for this fundraiser as well,” Kaitlin Olson said. “I hope that this may inspire others to take the brave step to have the tough conversations. We need to support each other, help end the stigma associated with addiction and educate ourselves to be able to view addiction for what it really is: a disease.”

Q: I'm utilizing the coping skills I've learned – why don't I feel better?

A: Substances like alcohol and other drugs shortcut the brain's natural reward system, and it takes time for that reward system to heal and perform normally. Your brain may need to redefine fun and build an emotional tolerance to life again.
