What do Hockey and Rock Music have in Common?

Facebook ‌ Twitter ‌ LinkedIn ‌
Theo Fleury - Hockey Star
Wes Geer - Rock Star
Just as an editorial note, The Addiction Podcast has exceeded 200,000 downloads! Thank you for your support. We firmly believe that if all of us take action, that we can end this addiction pandemic.
This week, we published two podcast episodes.

The first one was Theo Fleury. Theo Fleury is a seven-time NHL all star who won a World Junior Championship, a Canada Cup, an Olympic gold medal and helped the Calgary Flames win their first and only Stanley Cup championship during his 1988-89 rookie year. Following a suspension by the league for violating the terms of its substance abuse program, he became a sought after speaker about drug abuse. In 2009 he published his best-selling autobiography – Playing with Fire – which documented years of sexual abuse as a teen by his former coach.

Wes Geer - A Rock Stay, Literally
Wes Geer founded the band HedPE and was traveling guitarist for KORN. In 2003, Wes was addicted to methamphetamines, alcohol and pot. He got clean. In 2012 he founded Rock to Recovery, a non-profit organization that allows recovering addicts, victims of abuse and troubled teens to express themselves through song. Rock to Recovery also works with Wounded Warriors helping our most valued citizens - our veterans.
