For Women for Sobriety, this past year can be summed up with the word “Change.” A wonderful acronym for change is: Choose Having A New  Growth Experience This year, WFS saw many changes. From easy online registrations for Conference to fresh leadership for our life changing organization, change has been a continuing theme.  Starting out the year, 4C women were able to register online for our upcoming conference in June. This set the pace for an enthusiastic gathering at DeSales University. Our keynote speaker this year, Karlee Fain, engaged us with energy and connectedness. Our swag bags raised the bar and held wonderful new goodies to take home. Reviewing the evaluations, this new direction for WFS has been well received. Stay tuned for more exciting news for Conference 2019 featuring keynotes Karen Drucker and Annie Grace! Summertime came with changes in the office. We welcomed Adrienne Miller as our new President and CEO. With a fresh perspective and an eye towards growth, WFS is reaching women who need this life saving program with Adrienne’s experience and organized efforts.  Amanda, a local 4C woman, joined the office team and enthusiastically answers phones, emails and picks/packs orders. Adrienne continues to be busy in and out of the office. Our new website was launched and it is filled with helpful information, with an added bonus, we now have an online meeting locator! Be sure to check out Adrienne’s weekly update on our website for the latest behind the scenes activities. Another task needed was cleaning house and sending those dust bunnies flying. Unused or out of date equipment was sold and with lots of work from dedicated volunteers, the office is now efficient, uncluttered and feels comfortable for staff.  With a new Beginner’s Collection booklet added to the bundle for those women new to sobriety, WFS is able to help women anytime or anywhere. WFS is continuing to work on updating the WFS Online Forum with new chat features. The busy Face to Face Volunteer Team reaches out to CM’s and CCM’s each month, helping with questions or connecting new moderator’s with WFS veteran’s. From this, WFS continues to see an increase in the number of face to face meetings available nationwide. On the outreach front, WFS has been invited to participate in another project with Choice in Recovery. Many will remember that we participated in this video project to help educate the public about the many options that are available to people in recovery from Substance Use Disorders. Choice is creating an online course for treatment professionals to learn more about the many pathways available for clients.  On #Giving Tuesday, you lovingly donated $8,000 to Women for Sobriety, enabling us to continue our important Mission and now with 2018 coming to a close tonight there are just a few more hours to donate this year. Won’t you join us in celebrating change?
