ADDICTION FROM GODS PERSPECTIVE

Romans 6 v 16  Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves ,you are slaves of the one you obey - whether you are slaves to sin ,which leads to death,or to obedience ,which leads to righteousness?

Addiction is a Spiritual Disease , like Sin it enslaves you ! Once it becomes your master you are its slave.Addiction now controls and owns you ! Making it a false God and that's how addiction becomes a sin. Your true Master is your Creator the one True God .Think about it like this your Drug of Choice is now your false God .You will do whatever your master commands . Their is no limit too how far you are willing to go to please your master. He tells you when to eat , sleep, steal, lie, cheat ,and give up everything to please Him. If you try to escape His control he will make you physically sick and he will relentlessly torture you until you give in .There is only one true way to complete freedom and that is treating the Spiritual part of you by committing Step One and surrender to God. He and He alone can can and will set you free.

ADDICTION FROM GODS PERSPECTIVE

ADDICTION FROM GODS PERSPECTIVE

Romans 2 v 11 v 12 For who knows a persons thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

Okay so you still don't understand the Spiritual and sin thing ! That's okay because you are unspiritual even though you have a spirit .Your focused on the body and the mind. Lets look at it another way ! A car needs and runs on water oil and gas ,without one of these elements the car would run terrible and eventually Die. You like this car are made up of three major components ! Mind , Body , and Spirit.Treatment realms work on the mind and body but barely address the Spiritual because they don't understand it , so its just better to leave it alone . Sin is a Spiritual Disease that ruins the body and mind . If you remove the sin the Spiritual part of you becomes fixed and the mind will get better and the physical body will heal the heart ! Removing all reasons to self medicate !

“The only thing that will truly change the addict’s deep, emotional attachment to their drug and the personal meaning they give it is something deeper, more personal, more emotionally and more spiritually meaningful. The only way to compete with the meaning that drugs have for the addict is to validate that meaning and then help the addict find greater meaning from things in recovery."
Kevin McCauley and Cory Reich in their book Addiction

How does one prepare for a loved one’s return home after residential treatment? How do we re-engage in daily life together in ways that support one another's well-being?

Educating ourselves about the nature of this disease informs our attitude toward it. When family members understand that the problem loved ones face is a disease rather than a weakness of character, the long-standing stigma of addiction will not interfere with their response. The stigma is toxic and stands in the way of effectively dealing with this disease at all its levels. When we can come to clear terms with the fact that addiction is a disease that has affected everyone in the family, we can respond more effectively and more compassionately.

How to Deal with New Year Expectations

A key approach to managing the new year with success is to see the world from a different perspective, one without expectations.

Letting Go

Letting go is a common theme when starting the New Year, especially as we think about what happened in the year prior. We mull over the lessons that we learned to move us forward, and decide which habits or situations we want to leave behind.
