Life Transformation With Spiritual Support From Scripture And The 12 Steps
Psalm 90 v 8
You have set our iniquities before you,
our secret sins in the light of your presence.
Step 4
Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
Getting clean and coming clean will be two of the most difficult steps we will take in our lives !In order to get clean and stay clean we have to come clean. Let me explain !Holding onto mistakes ,regrets , failures and fears will keep you stuck in our self medicating and destructive ways.
The scripture verse and step four make it clear ,we have to expose these negative feelings in order to take away their ability to render us powerless to change our lives for the better. Its whats on the inside of us that determines the outcome of how we live our lives.Your pain has an internal power and control that will never allow you to grow mature and find sobriety . Getting clean but still holding onto negative feelings will give you another go round on the relapse roller coaster every time. In the rooms , I have heard the old saying we are only sick as our secrets ! Pain can serve two purposes ! Talking to God about our pain and our negative feelings opens the door for God to come into your life and use our pain for a purpose. The psalmist through the Scripture verse above makes is clear. To sum it all up , exposing and giving God our pain will eliminate its power to hurt.God reverses it to perfect our character.God knows more about your life and what you have been through better that you do.He hurts when you Hurt and He loves you beyond all human understanding. I reflect on my past and I am grateful for the pain because I wouldn't be who I am if I had not gone through what I went through. Life is Good! Nothing is hidden from God and He is waiting for you to expose and give your pain to Him. he will turn your Hurt into hope and your pain into purpose. Hide nothing come clean, so you can get clean and stay clean ! Live your life to your God given full potential . Your worth it !
Romans 5 v 3-5
3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
