Aug25th 12-1pm MT Cost: Free! 1 CEU Offered REGISTER HERE Overview: Children are often the first ones hurt and the last ones helped when substance use is impacting the family. In this workshop, we will explore how children are impacted, learn tools to help them cope, and important messages for children to hear. Participants can learn new tools to help families change the family legacy and discover recovery together.  Participants Will: Learn accurate and age-appropriate language to use in order to teach children about substance use. Learn to identify ways that children may be affected by substance use. Identify therapeutic strategies that foster the development of key resilience skills     Presenter: Lindsey Chadwick, MA, LPC Hazelden Betty Ford Children's Program - Aurora, CO Lindsey Chadwick (She/hers), MA, LPC, has worked for the Hazelden Betty Ford Children’s Program in Aurora, Colorado since 2008. She began working at HBFF after completing her undergraduate degree in Sociology at Colorado State University. She completed her master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy at the University of Colorado Denver in 2013. He also shares where he is now: celebrating six years of recovery and spreading hope to others who are struggling. Brandon opens up to Elizabeth about “underestimating” his addiction, and the consequences he faced during his decades-long journey with substance use. He also talks about how his mother coped with his addiction and the only two regrets he has today. Free Solutions for Families Webinar on September 9th

Please join Caron Treatment Centers for this free webinar Solutions for Families Thursday, September 9, 2021 | 7:00 - 8:30 PM EST Substance use disorders impact the entire family system and place an enormous toll on everyone within the family.  Family members are hurt and react in a variety of ways to that emotional pain.  This webinar will review healthy ways for families to process their emotions, set appropriate boundaries, and create the space where they can travel on their own pathway to healing and recovery.   Who Should Attend this Program? Solutions for Families is part of the fundamental series of Caron’s Family Support Services.  Family members who participated in Caron’s Family Education Program while their loved one was in treatment may have already been exposed to this topic but might find it beneficial to participate again now that their loved one has returned home.  For family members who have not participated in Caron’s Family Education Program, we hope that this webinar will give you an opportunity to experience the support Caron provides to families while their loved ones are in treatment.   Sponsored by the generosity of Lauren and Jay Springer Register Online Now Webinar Presenter Kelli Frey, MA, LPC, NCC, CADC Family Therapist As a Family Therapist in the Family Education Program, Kelli Frey educates families about addiction, self-care, and setting boundaries. She also provides family therapy and facilitates group therapy. Kelli’s previous experience as a counselor at Caron gives her an in-depth understanding and empathy for the needs and issues of both patients and families. She started at Caron in 2007 as an administrative assistant in the Student Assistance Program, moving on to a role as specialist leading programs in schools. In 2011, she became an addiction counselor and then a family therapist in 2013. Kelli is a licensed professional counselor, a national certified counselor, and a certified alcohol and drug counselor. She has a Master of Arts in mental health counseling from Lancaster Bible College and Graduate School.
