Opportunity knocks

GIFT MATCHING OPPORTUNITY

Give by Monday, August 31

Dear Joseph,

We’ve all been through some tough days. I hope you and those dear to you are well.

But you know, as I do, that many of our neighbors are still out of work, having trouble putting food on the table, falling behind on the rent, just one bill away from disaster. The lingering impact of COVID-19 has turned this into a great struggle.

That’s why I’m so pleased to share a unique opportunity to DOUBLE your gift to CityTeam.

When you give now, a $100,000 Matching Gift will enable you to help TWICE as many men, women, and children in our community!

Joseph, I hope you’ll give now so that whatever you send will be matched dollar for dollar by the matching funds. Every $1.89 you give will provide a meal and care.

$100,000 GIFT MATCH OPPORTUNITY!

So many people are struggling in the aftermath of COVID-19. They need your care and compassion.

Irene is just one example. A single mom with children, she was laid off in March as the coronavirus pandemic unfolded. Because Irene had some savings set aside, she has been able to cover the rent. But the loss of income has really been hard. She has had trouble buying food.

Your support today will help an at-risk household like Irene’s survive this unforseen crisis.

When you give by Monday, August 31, you’ll provide services like our drive-through mobile food pantries and home deliveries to seniors, which provide prepackaged groceries and supplies, making help easier to get. This so often opens the door to lasting change. Individuals and families preserve their dignity and weather the hard times.

Please give online now. Your generosity — DOUBLED by the $100,000 in matching funds — will bring God’s love and life-restoring power and twice the blessing to neighbors who are suffering. If you’ve already given, thank you so much! Our work would not be possible without your help, and help from other generous people like you.

Tips for Self-Care | Family Voices at Mobilize Recovery Conference

Partnership to End Addiction

I Know I Need to Take Care of Myself Too, but How?

I Know I Need to Take Care of Myself Too, but How?

It’s not uncommon to focus exclusively on your child when they are struggling with substance use. You may find yourself tracking their every movement and consumed with worry. It’s completely understandable it would leave you feeling anxious and exhausted.

A critical part of the solution is your own self-care. Not only will self-care help you feel better personally, it will make you a better problem-solver. You will also have the added benefit of showing your child how best to cope with stress.

Message from the Founder

Dear Partner,

Thank you for taking a moment to watch this video and for checking out the links below. You'll find encouragement for your soul in these difficult days.

Our first bilingual edition is now in prisons around the nation and already we are receiving calls from chaplains asking for more! We are eager to see how God uses this Spanish and English edition to reach new souls for the kingdom of God. Our Hispanic correspondence team is in place and ready to respond to letters from new members of our VL family.

Thank you for your prayers and for your continued financial support. Every dollar you give to our ministry delivers a copy of Victorious Living magazine into a prison where it will impact multiple lives for years to come.

Thank you for helping us deliver hope! And if there is anything we can pray with you about, please call Pat Avery, our partner care director at 352-478-2098.

Sincerely,

Kristiblack-1

Ministry Update

Did you know we provide more than hope-filled stories through VL Mag?

Every day inmates receive personal correspondence from our incredible team of volunteers who carry out God's command to remember prisoners.

In addition to writing letters, they also send Bible studies to inmates written by our founder. The above picture captures our faithful Starke, Florida volunteers assembling over 4000 Bible studies in June. Click here to download our latest devotion.

VL HIGHLIGHT

Are you around people yet still feel lonely? Do you long for a different life? James Pagan's story: "Capture the Life You Long For" discusses these very issues.

James was a hot-dog hustler who became a top chef. But even with success and fame in the culinary world, he longed for peace and connection. This void was finally filled when he surrendered his life to Jesus.

You can read 100s of inspiring stories and download every issue of VL mag on vlmag.org.
