💥 Highlight Real with Emily Paulson – Episode 135

Looking back, it’s easy for Emily to see that alcohol was always a problem.
She says that although something bad didn’t happen every time she drank when bad things did happen she had been drinking.
In college, she was able to mask her problem because her drinking didn’t look too different from anyone else.
It wasn’t until Emily became a mom that her drinking became a glaring issue and she started to participate in what she refers to as “Mommy Wine Culture.”
“All the things happened that they say are going to happen.”
She had trouble in her marriage, was dropping the ball as a mom, got a DUI, and finally, she had enough.
Today Emily is 3 years sober.
She is a Recovery Coach, Public Speaker, and Author of the book, “Highlight Real: Finding Honesty & Recovery Beyond the Filtered Life

COVID-19 Quarantine Update

Our current quarantine group of new program intakes attends a streaming church service. Paula Richardson, Phase 1 Client Representative and Quarantine Program Supervisor:
“We are now halfway through our second quarantine group (Q2) at The Lovelady Center. There are no words to describe how truly amazing and good God is. He shows up and shows out daily. His presence radiates through our Q2 area.

Our first group consisted of 21 new program intakes, and our second group consists of 31. We are witnessing chains being broken and walls crumbling down. We have precious women from all walks of life in here and I am super excited and super thankful to say they are all thriving and they are excited and thankful to be here to learn a new way to live through Jesus Christ our Savior! What the enemy meant for harm God is using for their good, to bring Him all the glory! God definitely renews our strength daily.  It is such an honor to be here ‘For Such A Time As This (Esther 4:14).’
Beth, Brooke, and I live in the Q2 area with our precious clients.  For each quarantine group entering the program (as well as the seperate Supervised Reentry Program quarantine group housing the new 13 Alabama Department of Corrections' princesses you may have heard about), the unbending rule is no one in and no one out for 14 days. We get up early seven days a week and end however late into the night it takes to serve their meals, administer medicine, meet with them to counsel, and to encourage and help them with whatever needs they may have.

I know we have God’s protection here in this area of the building and we are forever thankful and grateful that our programs, classes and treatment can continue for precious Loveladies in the midst of a pandemic. We want to ask for prayers that we continue to operate in God’s Wisdom. We also want to thank everyone for their prayers and support, enabling us to continue the Lord's work.
We are super honored, super thankful, and super grateful to be on the frontlines of His Kingdom.”
