In the world of addiction, it can be hard to find meaning in an otherwise dark and lonely world. But, one of our alumni, Nathaniel, was able to find meaning through his journey into sobriety. Read his powerful testimony and see how addiction recovery changed his life. Thank you Nathaniel for sharing your story and inspiring others to take the brighter path in life like you did!
Brett Favre’s Salute to SRC

Anyone can develop an addiction, even athletes like Brett Favre recognize the importance of getting help for addiction. We'd like to give a big "thank you" to the Hall of Famer for showing his support to what Chris and all of us here at SRC are doing.

This year’s conference will be held in Itasca, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, at the Westin Chicago Northwest from September 20–22. The theme is “Celebrating Our Past, Present & Future,” with an emphasis on celebrating the organization’s 25th anniversary year and our history of helping countless people break free from addiction, all those who have been instrumental to our success along the way, and ways we see SMART growing in the future.

About SMART Recovery

Founded in 1994, SMART Recovery uses science-based techniques that have proven to be effective in helping people recover from addiction problems involving any substance or behavior, including such things as alcohol, drugs, gambling, over-eating, shopping and internet use.

Each week, many thousands of people discuss recovery progress and challenges at more than 3,000 in-person meetings in 23 countries, 25 online gatherings and 24/7/365 internet message board forums and chat rooms.

Participants use SMART to assume responsibility for their own recovery and become empowered using its 4-Point Program®: building motivation; coping with urges; managing thoughts, feelings and behaviors; and living a balanced life.
