September Is Recovery Month!
FacebookLinkedInTwitter
Every September, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) sponsors Recovery Month to increase awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders and celebrate the people who recover.  This year's theme is Join the Voices for Recovery: Invest in Health, Home, Purpose, and Community.

All month, SAMHSA will explore how integrated care, a strong community, sense of purpose, and leadership contribute to effective treatments that sustain the recovery of persons with mental and substance use disorders. The observance will work to highlight inspiring stories to help people from all walks of life find the path to hope, health, and wellness.

In the spirit of community, SAMHSA invites you to learn more about recovery activities in your area by participating in events near you, or help bring your community together by hosting an event and posting in on the SAMHSA website! National Recovery Month events are taking place across the country - find an event near you, or find out how to plan an event in your community!

Celebrating Hope
Dear Joseph,

September is National Recovery Month and, to celebrate the millions who have found recovery, we invite you to help us spread the message of hope.

If you have a personal story of recovery, we encourage you to become a Partner for Hope and share your journey. By doing so, you will join our community of inspiring individuals who have chosen to change lives through their experiences.

You can also fundraise in celebration of recovery and help us raise $10,000 through our Recovery Month 30-Day Challenge to support other families in their journey to recovery. All donations made to your Partners for Hope page between September 1 and September 30 will count towards this challenge, regardless of how much you have raised so far or how much you have to go until you reach your personal fundraising goal. The top fundraiser will win the grand prize, which includes a carry-on luggage case and Partners for Hope swag!

Each story of hope is unique and offers inspiration for those in recovery and others who are still struggling with a substance use disorder.

Thank you for being a part of our life-changing work.

Sincerely,

Kaila Sassano
