Dear Val Kilmer, Anthony Bourdain Did Love Us | The Fix

Dear Val Kilmer, Anthony Bourdain Did Love Us | The Fix: Suicide is not about someone wanting to leave their family. It is about them being in so much pain they felt they could not stay.

Using Marijuana to Treat Opioid Addiction | The Fix

Using Marijuana to Treat Opioid Addiction | The Fix: When I'm on marijuana, the thought of injecting toxic drugs into my body seems totally unhealthy and unappealing.

So You Want to Write About Addicts | The Fix

So You Want to Write About Addicts | The Fix: At its best, addict lit satiates our quintessential human yearning for stories that may lead to salvation. We want warm fuzzies. We want sweet, sweet, redemption.

When You're Too Depressed to 'Reach Out' | The Fix

When You're Too Depressed to 'Reach Out' | The Fix: How is it that we’ve all been conditioned to place the burden of action on the one with the mental condition that literally robs us of the ability to act?

Hi,

The reason my team and I started PublicHealthCorps is to put the “public” back into public health. One thing we’ve noticed more and more is that addiction is a very misunderstood condition - by those who live with it and by those who don’t. That’s why I very much appreciate sites like yours that share information that promotes awareness and will hopefully help end the stigma of addiction!

I truly thank you for your thoughtfulness, and I’m sure you’ve helped a lot of people. If you think it would help, I’ve listed some additional info below you can add to what you already have. The PublicHealthCorps team and I are just trying to follow your example and do our part.

Thanks again!

Thanks,
Patricia
