Keep the Pressure On! Contact Your Senators Today to Oppose the Health Care Bill
|
The health care vote in the Senate has been delayed and proponents of the bill are working hard to get the votes they need to it passed. We need to work harder to protect those affected by substance use disorders.
NAADAC joined over 430 addiction & mental health organizations in signing a letter to Senate leadership addressing serious concerns with how the Senate health care bill will affect the millions of Americans suffering from substance use disorders and mental illness who may lose their health coverage entirely or see reductions in benefits that impede access to needed care.
We need your voice, your story and your activism TODAY, as the new health care bill would:
- Deeply cut Medicaid funding, end the Medicaid expansion, impose caps on federal Medicaid funds, and allow states to impose work requirements on certain beneficiaries;
- Allow states to remove essential health benefits (which require insurers to cover addiction and mental health benefits); and
- Result in millions of people losing their health insurance, including millions of people who need addiction and mental health care
Please call the U.S. Capitol directly at 202-224-3121 to be connected to your Senators to urge a NO vote on the health care bill. Click here to find your Senators.[ Read Letter ] - [ Take Action ]

Working with young adults with addictive disorders most often also means working with co-occurring disorders of anxiety and depression. Recognizing not just blatant traumas, but addressing developmental trauma is significant in their treatment. In her presentation, Dr. Black will address clinical issues amongst the often ignored population of economically privileged young people.
