Annual Conference Scholarships Available

Thanks to the generous support of our partners, NAADAC is able to provide a limited number of scholarships to cover full or partial registration fees for its 2017 Annual Conference in Denver, CO from September 22-26th. All scholarship awardees are expected to pay for all other fees, travel, and lodging expenses. Scholarship awardees will be notified by July 15, 2017. Deadline: June 1, 2017

There is a clear evidence that individuals in treatment for substance use disorders are at high risk for gambling and that unidentified gambling problems contributes to increased treatment costs and decreased treatment effectiveness. However, standard screening techniques have been largely ineffective in clinical settings. This presentation will focus on effective strategies for screening for gambling problems and initiating the conversation regarding the impact of gambling and problem gambling on recovery, health and wellbeing. College Workforce Forums – Register Today!
|
SAMHSA and NAADAC have partnered with four states to host collegiate Workforce Forums to promote the benefits and opportunities in the substance use and mental health disorder professions in an effort to build the addiction workforce. These forums will also focus on each state’s workforce needs, state certification and licensing requirements, national certification opportunities, networking and mentoring connections, and other professional development opportunities. Finally, students will be able to visit with local SUD treatment providers to learn more about employment and internship opportunities. Register today!

Up to $10M in Grants Promoting Integration of Primary and Behavioral Health Care
|
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is accepting applications for Promoting Integration of Primary and Behavioral Health Care Grants totaling up to $110 million over the course of five years. The purpose of this program is to promote full integration and collaboration in clinical practice between primary and behavioral healthcare. The grants will also help promote services related to screening, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of mental and substance use disorders as well as related physical conditions and chronic diseases.[ More Information ] |
