September is National Recovery Month

September is National Recovery Month
National Recovery Month (Recovery Month) takes place each September and is a national observance held to bring awareness to the public about how substance use treatment and mental health services can enable those with a mental and/or substance use disorder to live a healthy and rewarding life.

We believe that Recovery is Real...and Begins at Mariners Inn.

Please join us in recognizing some recovery milestones and consider giving to Mariners Inn this month to help others reach their recovery milestones and join us on our journey to help save lives.
RECOVERY SPOTLIGHT - KEVIN HARRIS, 10 YEARS
Kevin Harris, 10 years
Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS)
Collegiate Recovery Communities (CRCs)
Recovery Coach at Mariners Inn

One of Kevin's favorite quotes about recovery:

"Recovery is personal. Can't nobody measure your
desire, can't nobody measure your recovery, can't nobody measure your manhood or womanhood, can't nobody measure your self-worth, can't nobody measure your self-respect, can't nobody measure your morals, can't nobody measure your values, but you. Recovery is very personal. You must forgive yourself and then introduce yourself to you."

Panel discussion with experts in the field
(including our very own Monta Knudson)
“Recovery is for Everyone: Every Person, Every Family, Every Community” reminds people in recovery and those who support them, that recovery belongs to all of us. We are all called to end gatekeeping and welcome everyone to recovery by lowering barriers to recovery support, creating inclusive spaces and programs, and broadening our understanding of what recovery means for people with different experiences.

Women for Sobriety has been working on updating our branding to increase outreach to more women. After focus group testing, we have two new logo options for your consideration. Of course, if you think we should keep our current logo, we would like to know that too.

Rank the 3 logo options from your favorite to your least preferred. Your input is important to us!

Survey is open through September 10, 2021
