Roland, MS, LASAC, is a licensed substance abuse counselor, self-help author, motivational speaker and addiction and mental health expert. His first book, Unpacked Sparkle, is about grief and recovery and was released first in 2016. His second book, a children’s book about bullying called Sparkle On, was released in 2018. His third, The Sparkle King, was released internationally by Wallace Publishing in 2019. It is about spirituality, self-love and emotional sobriety. He graduated from Grand Canyon University in June 2020 with a master’s in substance abuse counseling and received his associate license  in substance abuse counseling (LASAC) from the state of Arizona in January 2021. CityTeam Chester's Annual Bluegrass & BBQ event benefits our outreach and programs to serve neighbors experiencing hunger or homelessness.

Hearty meals, safe shelter, and education all unlock the pathways to a restored life. With your help, we can continue serving neighbors in need who are experiencing hunger, homelessness, or addiction. 

Help Fund a Need 
With the rising cost of living, and so many impacted by the effects of the pandemic, we want to ensure we can provide for all the men, women, and children who come to us for help. 

• $150 One Ticket Purchase -- Provide a Month of Nutritious Meals and care to help a local  neighbor in need
   
• $1,200 to Sponsor a Table -- Provide a month's worth of meals for 20 neighbors in need
   
• $5,000 for Career & Education Support -- Provide a half a year of vocational training for 5 people to provide a lasting solution for men and women looking for life change

​Where Most Needed: A gift of any amount will be put to work immediately where needs are greatest to help men, women, and children right here in our community.
