Cyndy Feasel - A Widow on a Mission
Cyndy Feasel a Widow on a Mission
Grant Feasel was a starting center and long snapper for the Seattle Seahawks from 1987 to 1992. However, due to a brain muddled by a history of repetitive trauma and symptomatic concussions, he turned to drugs and alcohol. The combination of CTE and his drinking led to his death 9 years ago.

His wife, Cyndy, is on a mission to educate people about this deadly combination – brain injury and addiction.

💫 Finding Meaning In Our Suffering

When we feel hopeless, we suffer physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. While many alcoholics and addicts are familiar with hopelessness in active addiction, it can be confusing and even surprising experiencing it in sobriety.

But how do we find hope amidst the hopelessness? Is there a way to find meaning in the suffering?

In this week's Recovery Coaching, we discussed this important issue. Finding recovery doesn't necessarily mean we live on a permanent pink cloud, but it also doesn't mean when we have to live in a state of hopelessness. Together, we can find a middle ground.

Have you felt hopeless in recovery? What steps did you take to get out of it? Hit the reply button and let me know.

Check out this week's Recovery Coaching replay,
here and enjoy the rest of this week's wrap up.

🎙️How I Cope with Zach Cohen

Lead singer of The Redrum Society, Zack Cohen, can trace the roots of his addiction back to when he started drinking at only eight years old.

This would be a foreshadowing of the regular drug use that would continue to progress later in life. After moving to California in his twenties, chasing the next high became his top priority.

Listen to this week's podcast, here.
