Title:
Principles of Ethics and Morals
The definition of the word ethics is; moral principles that govern a person‘s behavior or the conducting of an activity... The discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation… A set of moral principles.
The definition of the word moral is; concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior and holding high principles for proper conduct... A persons’ standards of behavior or beliefs concerning what is and is not acceptable for them to do.
Therefore professional ethics combines principles of proper conduct, duties and obligations along with a set of professional morals, duty and obligation.
Personal ethics and morals can however be different than professional ethics and morals in that a professional can have lower ethical and moral lifestyle outside of their professional function than they do in the context of their professional function with patients or clients. Example: language, addictions, infidelity, deception, destructive secret relationships, etc.
Professional ethics and moral standards are therefore often violated because of different personal ethics and morals.
