Spanish Language Sessions at the NAADAC 2019 Annual Conference!
For the first time, NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, along with the National Hispanic and Latino Addiction Technology Transfer Center, is offering a full-day pre-conference session (7 CEs) and three breakout sessions (1.5 CEs each) in Spanish at the NAADAC 2019 Annual Conference.

It is the commitment of both organizations to increase the number of bilingual addiction counselors working with Hispanic and Latino communities. To properly do that we must train, recruit and retain them in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner. These workshops are part of a full-service program being developed between NAADAC and the National Hispanic and Latino ATTC that will include the development of study manuals and testing in Spanish.

Join us in Orlando, FL at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld from September 28 - October 3, 2019 for six days of education, training, networking, and capacity-building with thought leaders in the addiction profession! Earn up to 43 CEs, including up to 11.5 CEs from Spanish sessions!

Presented in partnership with the National Hispanic and Latino Addiction Transfer Technology Center (ATTC).

¡No te preocupes!
Public health officials have called the current opioid epidemic the worst drug crisis in American history, killing more than 63,000 people in 2017. Opioids are a prime contributor to our addiction and overdose crisis. In 2015, nearly two-thirds of drug overdoses were linked to opioids like Percocet, OxyContin, heroin and fentanyl. In fact, Americans consume more opioids than any other country in the world. This workshop will present the recent dramatic increase in the misuse of prescription painkillers, the easy accessibility of opioids such as heroin in the streets, and the epidemic of opioid overdoses. We will help counselors learn more about these drugs and to learn about available medications and treatments for opioid use disorders.

Can't attend the Pre-Conference? Don’t worry! Presenter Pierluigi Mancini, PhD, MAC, NCAC II, will present a truncated version of this full-day session on Tuesday, October 1 from 2:30pm-4:00pm.

Are you making some changes to your lifestyle this summer? Starting a more rigorous exercise routine? Or experiencing the joys and complications of early recovery? 100,000 meals this summer

You don’t have to go far to help people who are hurting. Right here in our community – in our own backyard – there are neighbors who are wondering where they’ll sleep tonight. When they’ll eat their next meal.

How they’ll overcome their desperate circumstances. They’re homeless… hungry… battling addiction… struggling to survive. But thanks to friends like you, who love your neighbors and show your compassion through your gifts to The Foundry Ministries, you can bring them hope.

Through our 92-Day Summer Campaign, you can give where you live to assist broken people like Matt.
Give Today
Growing up with a father who used drugs and alcohol, Matt followed in his role model’s footsteps, unaware of where the path would lead. By the time he graduated from college he had developed a serious addiction, and for years he denied he had a problem. But when Matt’s marriage ended, he struggled to hold a job.
Unable to care for his daughter, he realized the toll substance abuse was taking on his life. The death of his sister was the final blow. Matt turned away from God, lost in bitterness, until his destructive habits led to an arrest. By God’s grace, a judge ordered him to come to The Foundry Ministries.

When Matt came to The Foundry, God’s love and gifts from you and other faithful friends provided him with food, shelter and guidance to restore his life.
Our utility expenses for June, July and August combined are expected to run as high as $129,000.

This is the goal of our 92-Day Summer Campaign, and we need your help to meet it. I pray I can count on you to send a gift today and twice again in the coming months.

Men, women and children throughout Alabama need our assistance, and we need yours. Please give where you live today. Your generosity will ensure we can continue to meet essential needs and provide life-restoring guidance this summer and all year-round.

God bless you for your kindness,

Gratefully,
I'll Give Where I Live
