Join Libby Stuyt, MD, for this free NAADAC webinar, which will discuss the history of NADA, including how it was discovered and developed and some of the research that has been done over the past 50 years to determine safety and effectiveness. There will be a discussion of how it is being used in programs around the country and how it can be used to help with opiate withdrawal, with and without MAT, and with co-occurring disorders to help calm anxiety and improve sleep.

2019 Minority Fellowship for Addiction Counselors – Now Accepting Applications
|
The NBCC Foundationand NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, are pleased to announce the 2019 application period for the National Board for Certified Counselors Minority Fellowship Program (NBCC MFP) for Addictions Counselors (MFP-AC).
This program is made possible by a grant awarded to the NBCC Foundation in collaboration with NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The program will administer up to 40 master’s degree-level counseling fellowships of $15,000 for addictions counseling students, plus the travel expenses to participate in other program-related trainings.

Join NAADAC & National Council for Behavioral Health in Kosovo

Connect with addiction and mental health professionals in Kosovo on the NAADAC and National Council for Behavioral Health delegation from May 18-25, 2019.
Led by NAADAC Executive Director Cynthia Moreno Tuohy and the National Council for Behavioral Health President and CEO Linda Rosenberg, this World Learning program will give you a unique opportunity to learn about the state of addiction and mental health programs in this developing country, the Balkan region, and Eastern Europe.
Professional visits will focus on topics such as:
- Epidemiology of addiction and mental health disorders in Kosovo;
- Assessment, intervention and referral, treatment and care options for drug and alcohol use disorders;
- Scarcity of service providers and access to treatment;
- Role of primary care and community-based services in identification and treatment;
- Ongoing quality of life and community rehabilitation programming;
- Resources for patients and affected family members;
- Treatment for post-war traumatic disorders; and
- Roles of international NGOs in developing programs in Kosovo.

This full time position will work in a team environment with NAADAC staff, NAADAC leadership, and National Addiction Studies Accreditation Commission (NASAC). He/she will provide day-to-day operation of education and professional development programming.
This position will work to strengthen NAADAC’s development and dissemination of educational and professional development materials and offerings with support of the NAADAC team. Telecommuting is possible.
