The PPLA Initiative was conceived of and initiated by DBHIDS (Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services) and is supported by the work of PRO-ACT (Pennsylvania Recovery Organization – Achieving Community Together). There is a shared belief that a critical, demonstrated need for greater peer driven leadership in Philadelphia’s behavioral health system is lacking. Without informed, committed, and passionate peer leaders, system transformation may not be fully realized.
