Lori Sullivan, RIR Co-Founder
Sober and Clean Since 09/14/99
Since having been diagnosis with Her2 Positive Left Breast Cancer on April 6, 2018 that has also spread into her lymph nodes under her left armpit. Lori has with dignity and grace, through her long term recovery of 19 years (09/14/99), been able to walk through the most horrific circumstances.

Two Lumpectomies (cause they missed the margins on the first one). Two rounds of chemo therapy out of six she will be doing. she said after her second chemo treatment "Four more to go" , always positive and a smile with a treatment that has the worst side affects I've ever seen.

Lori is doing the chemo treatments every 21 days, her next one is September 20. She has done this one day at a time without picking up.
When she finishes chemo around December 2018, she will then start 5 days a week for 6 weeks of radiation treatments.

Lori is a great mother of four, a great friend to people, and a inspiration of hope. She helps me to see the true understanding of "mad, sad or glad we don't pick up no matter what."

Congratulations and happy anniversary Lori. I love you and thank you for all you have done over almost two decades of helping others and being a true beacon of what real recovery looks like.

With All Our Love,

John and Christopher.

We have set up a GoFundMe Page For Lori. The money being raised will be used for her living expenses, co-pays and any unforeseen financial needs during her treatment process over the next year.

Most importantly your prayers, love, and friendly thoughts of encouragement will surely help.

W  ell, the numbers are in, and it’s not looking good. It’s much worse. Overdose deaths in 2017 have risen an alarming 10% according to the CDC’s preliminary results, to a record-breaking 76,000.
The main culprit is Fentanyl.
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid available as a prescription but also made in clandestine laboratories illegally. Most of these labs are in China and Mexico but some have been discovered in the U.S. as well. The drug is usually mixed into heroin or other drugs to make them more potent. Since it’s 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine, and often mixed into drugs without the user’s knowledge, it's evident why people are dying left and right.
The factors of increased opioid use and greater availability of Fentanyl are the likely reason for the increasing statistic.

And because Fentanyl is so potent, it can be smuggled more easily as it takes so little to have an effect.
The good news is that overdose deaths involving methadone, prescription opioid pills, and heroin decreased. While this may seem like a silver lining, it’s evidenced some ground is being won in this epidemic. The only question is if that is solely because more and more addicts have moved to heroin, and more heroin is laced with Fentanyl.
Greater efforts need to be made to give people access to lifesaving drugs such as Narcan, which can reverse the effects of an overdose. But beyond that, awareness of the severity of this problem should be understood. If you know someone who’s using drugs like heroin, their life is literally on the line. Help them before they’re lost forever.

Narconon New Life Retreat offers beautiful and comfortable facilities matched with a highly successful non 12 step program which results in higher success rate

Finding The Music

The journey back from drug addiction is different for each of us.  No matter where we come from or how our addiction affected us we can all learn from each other.

Stepping Stones to Recovery

Life before Narconon was pretty much a big game to me, just not a survival one.  Life got to the point that I started to get amused by pain and I didn’t even care about anything anymore

Got My Life Back

How does someone wind up addicted to drugs? The truth is each person’s descent into drug addiction is different. This amazing story shows us a different perspective on how a person becomes addicted to drugs.
