Jeremy's Run
As one of the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids’ longest-standing Partners for Hope, I want to invite you to join our community by creating a memorial, sharing a story, or showing your support and fundraising on behalf of the families we serve. The Partnership has made it even easier for you to use your passions, stories, experiences and interests to help families struggling with their son or daughter’s substance use.

In 2008, my son Jeremy, a kind and intelligent football player, lost his life to the disease of addiction. I knew then that I had to do something to prevent other families from experiencing the same loss I did.

Jeremy's RunOne year later, I created Jeremy’s Run and shared his story by creating a memorial page and fundraising in his honor. My family, friends, neighbors and community members surrounded me as we ran in memory of Jeremy. I felt empowered knowing my passion for running was supporting the Partnership.

It's been nine years since the first Jeremy’s Run and we have raised more than $200,000. These funds help the Partnership keep their free lifesaving resources, like their national network of Parent Coaches, Helpline counselors and community education programs, available for families who need them most.

Today, I am calling upon you — the parent, friend, supporter, runner, or social guru — to inspire hope for families by sharing your story and fundraising on behalf of the Partnership. Whether you decide to encourage others through your experiences or fundraise in honor or celebration of yourself or a loved one, we welcome you as a Partner for Hope. Together, we can make a difference and help families thrive.

Join me today to inspire hope,
Cyndi Glass

TWELVE STEPPING WITH SUPPORT FROM SCRIPTURE

PSALM 103 V 3  He forgives all our sins
and heals all our diseases

Step 3: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God

Notice God forgives all your Sins, (character defects) first. Your diseases are self-inflicted when it comes to addiction. We cannot get well without God and we cannot be healed without first giving Him what is rightfully His. Control over our lives! Forgiveness makes room for wellness and our guilt, burdens, sorrow, fear, and shame block all the blessings God has for us. Talk to God, ask Him about forgiveness and Healing of your disease called addiction. LET GO! LET GOD!

Kevin M.
He Never Gave Up

"That was a huge part of where my life turned the wrong way," Kevin says, remembering when he smoked marijuana for the first time.  Before eighth grade, he had followed the "dos" and "don'ts" presented to him while growing up in middle class New Jersey.
In high school, he abandoned the good friends of his childhood.  "I started hanging out with completely different types of people--people who did drugs, who partied, who didn't care about life."  Drugs turned to drinking, his previously high grades slipped, and Kevin cared less and less.
