As one of the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids’ longest-standing Partners for Hope, I want to invite you to join our community by creating a memorial, sharing a story, or showing your support and fundraising on behalf of the families we serve. The Partnership has made it even easier for you to use your passions, stories, experiences and interests to help families struggling with their son or daughter’s substance use. In 2008, my son Jeremy, a kind and intelligent football player, lost his life to the disease of addiction. I knew then that I had to do something to prevent other families from experiencing the same loss I did. One year later, I created Jeremy’s Run and shared his story by creating a memorial page and fundraising in his honor. My family, friends, neighbors and community members surrounded me as we ran in memory of Jeremy. I felt empowered knowing my passion for running was supporting the Partnership. It's been nine years since the first Jeremy’s Run and we have raised more than $200,000. Notice God forgives all your Sins, (character defects) first. Your diseases are self-inflicted when it comes to addiction. We cannot get well without God and we cannot be healed without first giving Him what is rightfully His. Control over our lives! Forgiveness makes room for wellness and our guilt, burdens, sorrow, fear, and shame block all the blessings God has for us. Talk to God, ask Him about forgiveness and Healing of your disease called addiction. LET GO! LET GOD!
