Addiction Recovery and Rock Stars

Addiction Recovery
is not an unknown status for some rock stars. The world of rock and roll has certainly seen its fair share of addiction and substance abuse. In fact, drugs, alcohol and other risky behaviors are not only common among musicians; sometimes the entertainment industry makes it seem that they are celebrated! However, there are many rock stars that have kicked their habits and are now in recovery from addiction. READ MORE

Triumph Treatment Services

About Ushttp://triumphtx.org/wp-content/uploads/triumph-treatment-logo1.png

We offer instruction, assessment and referral, outpatient and residential treatment and housing. Triumph Treatment Services strives to be responsive to the chemical dependency treatment needs of the community of Yakima and the state of Washington.

History- Triumph Treatment Services is a comprehensive non-profit 501 (c) (3) agency serving Yakima County with chemical dependency treatment, outpatient, residential, and housing services. It is multifaceted, providing a continuum of care for chemically dependent individuals and their families.

Founded in 1961 as a small outpatient alcoholism treatment center, the agency has, since then, added four residential chemical dependency treatment facilities: One 78-bed facility for men in Buena, Washington; Three 16-bed facilities for women and their children in Yakima, Washington. We currently have one outreach program. This is the Parent-Child Assistance Program (P-CAP) which utilizes seven para-professionals to seek out and support at-risk women and their children. This is a best practices model.

We have 134 units of various kinds of housing but all low-income, clean and sober, and case-managed. We serve individuals and families in both transitional and permanent housing. We also manage a short-term shelter for families. We have several contracts which incorporate outreach and intensive case management.

We purchased Roosevelt Place, a former nursing home, in 2003. This facility now houses a commercial kitchen and women/children’s supportive housing. The housing program is a partner with Building Changes: Washington Family Funds. The program supports families with child advocates, housing case managers, and other necessary services.

We are part of the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) Pacific Northwest Node which allows us to participate in research projects and selected clinical trials. We were chosen as a community partner because of our comprehensive programming, experience with research and our interest in transfer of research to practice.
