STEP WORK JUST FOR TODAY
October 11 2016

STEP 1 . We admitted we were powerless over chemical substances that our lives had become unmanageable.
(AA BIG BOOK)

Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke (attach yourself to GOD not chemicals) I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light.”

Bill Would Allow Prosecutors to Seek Death Penalty for Dealers of Fentanyl-Laced Heroin - Partnership for Drug-Free Kids

Bill Would Allow Prosecutors to Seek Death Penalty for Dealers of Fentanyl-Laced Heroin - Partnership for Drug-Free Kids: A bill introduced in the U.S. House this week would allow federal prosecutors to seek capital punishment or life imprisonment for dealers of fentanyl-laced heroin, The Huffington Post reports.
“If we think we don’t merit a safe, loving and equal partner, we will never bring that person into our lives. If we think we can’t be happy, can’t ask for our needs to be met or don’t need to have them met, then we are doomed. The good news is that by changing our thoughts, we open ourselves up to positive influences and actions in our lives that allow us to thrive in the relationships that we always wanted.” —Sherry Gaba, a psychotherapist, life coach and certified recovery coach specializing in individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy

Domestic violence impacts women, men and children of every age, background and belief. Throughout the month of October — Domestic Violence Awareness Month — let's mourn those who have died because of domestic violence, celebrate those who have survived and connect those who work to end violence. Here is what you can do: Volunteer your time with yourstate coalition or local program. Wear purple, the color of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and use this as a way to tell others why ending domestic violence is important to you. Talk with a friend, family member, colleague or neighbor about domestic violence. Talking about domestic violence helps to erase stigma and shows survivors that they will be supported.  Domestic violence thrives when we are silent, but if we take a stand and work together, we can end domestic violence.

DNA: Our Two Choices

There are two choices that one can make about their DNA. What choice are you making?

There’s No Such Thing as ‘Real’ Recovery

It’s easy to want recovery to have a neat definition that you can pinpoint, but labeling anyone’s recovery journey as real or otherwise benefits no one — especially someone who is trying to recover.

Drinking May Raise Breast Cancer Risk

A new study out of Europe supports the notion that drinking raises women's risk of breast cancer.
Renew provides relevant and engaging information and resources to help individuals recovering from drug and alcohol addiction and their loved ones create and embrace a healthy lifestyle.
